In today’s reallity we should call this debunking of petrolum theories. Don’t get me wrong I love the idea of diversifying energy, but this industry has not said it’s last word. Creating a virtual world with a purpose is no game.
The TMDB was mainly created for the processing, handling and exporting of crude oil, so quality standards, specifically when it came to quantities of salt and water in the crude oil that was exported and received, needed to be monitored in detail prior to being shipped to the National Refinery System and then to the outlets.
As part of the services that PEMEX requested from Grupo SSC for the TMDB (Dos Bocas Marine Terminal DBMT,) one requirement had, as a key factor, to reduce operation time at the oil port during the process of dehydration and desalination of the crude oil.
During normal operations, the crude oil coming from the Campeche Probe was stored and separated in a Gun Barrel like tanks, where Grupo SSC had an important role in the design of such tanks; also the crude oil had to have a resilient time of 2 to3 days to enable gravitational separation to obtain a product with the precise specifications marked by the industry and avoid penalties.
After auditing information from the TMDB (DBMT) laboratories and once the reconditioning process of crude oil data was collected, Grupo SSC’s team developed The Dehydration and Desalination Virtual Laboratory; which through a model of mathematical projection were condensed in a simulation process the pipelines and the separation process of crude oil, it was then possible to further decision making knowing density, viscosity and water cut of the substance received, adjustments in temperature and flow were much needed for the process to obtain a continuous separation, a constant and not periodical.
Again the dexterity and quality of information handed by Grupo SSC was a determiner in the results of production time and operation costs for the delivery of a legitimate produce.
